sidewalks on Portuguese Stone in Petropolis

In the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro ( Região Serrana ), is located the pleasant town of "Petropolis". In the city center, there are sidewalks on Portuguese Stone, with a scrupulous work of agreement between curves and straight lines with vertical folding of an initial, letter "P" monogram in honor of Dom Pedro and the Royal Portuguese Family. The economy of Petropolis is based on historical and cultural tourism and the service sector, with emphasis on trade in clothes, in Teresa Street ( Rua Teresa ), also the manufacture of chocolate and beer. São Martinho do Porto is a nice village at a beautiful and calm bay

A pleasant village at a calm bay in Middle Portugal São Martinho do Porto is a nice village at a beautiful and calm bay. This bay is a shell-shaped lagoon. It is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by a small passage between the hills. Around the bay is a wide sandy beach, and next to the beach hills and dunes. During summer season there are many blue-white tents on the beach, you can rent them to store your beach gear or relax in the shade. The port is at the northside of the bay, all the boats are located around this area. Because of this bay, and the many possibilities, São Martinho do Porto is an attractive small seaside resort. The beautiful bay is a paradise for small children. But also for their parents and older children there is enough entertainment. There are many nice and good (fish) restaurants, not only at the seaside but also in the village centre. The local market is open all week. The picturesque small village of Salir do Porto is on the southside of the bay. This i

Design and architecture in Portugal by Tadeu Soares

Text by Tadeu Soares - Ambassador of Portugal in China We are extremely pleased that this issue of such a prestigious magazine is dedicated to design and architecture in Portugal.  I hope readers will gain a better understanding of Portuguese achievements in the field of contemporary architecture and design, which for many years have already attracted international recognition. Alongside these wonderful buildings, you will find thriving old quarters where the past has been preserved to a degree that is rarely found in other places in the world. Off course, in the last few years, the modernization of Chinese cit
